From the Director's Stall

As we strive to be more accurate in our name and our programs, we must be willing to change. Change is growth and growth is the theme of all our programs at G.A.I.T. this year. Each TR class, every HPOT session and all the VO, VT, EFL, and EFP training's are developed to promote a positive growth in the participant. Growth encourages change which may be physical, cognitive or emotional/behavioral. It may be subtle such as physically holding the reins correctly for the first time. Or change may be huge, such as learning to control emotional outbursts to be a more socially acceptable person.

The staff has been working hard to develop brochures and flyers that clearly depict each program and the significant differences among them. These are available at our office, at every fundraiser we have, and soon will be on our website.

Along with our theme for change, if we expect G.A.I.T. to grow some changes need to be made. For example, the Board of Directors has voted to change the logo, hire a grant-writing consultant, and expand our staff.

There may be changes at G.A.I.T., but our horses remain the same. There is some comfort in knowing that while everything seems to be changing, the horse remains forever stable, forever honest, and forever a symbol of strength and freedom. GAIT was established as a place for horses to help people in whatever way they could, and that will NOT change.
