Welcome and Happy New Year!

Get ready to help G.A.I.T. celebrate its 15th year in service to the Tri-State area. We’ll begin by explaining a few terms.

What’s in a name? Stable Eyes….

The name of this newsletter is pronounced the same as the word that best describes the goal for our riders; stabilize. We take this word very seriously when designing programs for the riders with special needs who participate in one of the many programs offered at G.A.I.T. All of our programs aim to stabilize the riders’ physical balance, cognitive focus, or emotional fluctuations.

Stable-Eyes also refers to our eyes on the stable…watching the horses for their health and safety …..and for our fun! We also need to keep our eyes open for the cats' welfare as they are our only rodent control. Feed, hay, equipment, tack, first aid and volunteer supplies all need to be checked on a regular basis under the watchful eye of the staff at G.A.I.T.

The amount of fundraising and grant writing that our staff and Board of Directors do throughout the year helps keep our program fees stable and in balance with our budget.

By being conscientious about the quality of our programs, the health and well-being of our horses, the safety for horses and people on the property and the cleanliness of the facility, we keep the environment of G.A.I.T. "stable".

Stable Eyes” describes G.A.I.T.’s goals, and G.A.I.T.’s responsibilities.
