From the Director's Stall

There is an old saying that goes something like this: "When the going gets tough, the tough get going."

That is what G.A.I.T. Board of Directors, Executive Director and staff expect to do this year. The programs at G.A.I.T. are too beneficial on too many levels to too many people to let economincs limit the therapy, fun, and educational conducted here.

So we are going to combine our New England "Yankee Ingenuity", Mid-West "Friendliness", Southern "Hospitality", and New York "Street-wise" characteristics together to keep G.A.I.T. viable through these difficult economic times.

How will we do this?

With your help, we will continue to provide safe, quality educational programs for all our riders. We will continue to offer networking opportunities for parents and caregivers. We will continue to create new, innovative programs to motivate, challenge and stimulate our participants cognitively, physcially and emotionally. We will continue to provide monthly training sessions for our volunteers to keep them enthusiastic about their jobs. And we will continue to provide you - our membership and supporters - with these newsletters and up-dates.

  • We need you to return your 2009 memberships today.
  • We need you to help us raise funds so we can continue these programs to benefit you, your neighbors and friends and this tri-state community.
  • We need you to call us and ask what else you can do.
  • We need you to look at our wish list and see what you may be able to contribute. No donation is ever too small, especially if you get three other people to donate the same itme... example paper towels. If you bring one roll and three of your friends bring another, that's 4 more rolls than we had before.

And finally, thank you!

  • Thank you for your continued belief in the programs we offer through horseback riding and horsemanship care.
  • Thank you for recommending us to families who could benefit from using our services.
  • Thank you for all your donations and concerns
  • Thank you for all you do to help us accomplish our mission, "To improve the quality of life of children and adults with special needs resulting in a more independent life in society."
